Provides benefits assistance to see if individuals might be eligible to receive disability assistance, city services, health screenings, Social Security, housing options, etc.

Accepts a wide variety of donations that are not in need of repair; donations may be sold to raise money for programs; donation pick-up can be arranged; call for details.

LIHEAP:

• Beginning October 1, accepting applications for elderly, age 60 years and older and/or disabled household member
• Beginning November 1, accepting applications for households with children under the age of six years
• General public can apply for assistance starting December 1-May 31, or until funds are depleted whichever comes first

The interests of senior citizens are represented at all public hearings, community meetings, etc. through Silver Haired Legislature and an Aging Specialist.

Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILA): provides adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live in a home environment, where they can experience independence and community.

Provides early childhood education for pregnant women and children ages birth to 3.

Medical Transportation: Provides door-to-door transportation for seniors who has a doctor's appointment.

Rehabilitative services available including speech therapy.

The SkillUP program provides SNAP participants opportunities to gain skills, training, or experience that will improve their ability to attain employment and decrease their dependency on public assistance programs. The intention of the SkillUP program is rapid attachment to work that leads to self-sufficiency for individuals and families. The program offers job search training, education, and supportive services to participants. The SkillUP program provides short-term training in the quickest possible time in order to lead to employment. Training should be completed within one year or less, must align with the participant’s employment plan, and lead to employment and self-sufficiency.

Provides instruction for those who have elected to take their GED to measure the extent to which they have gained the knowledge, skills and understanding.
