This project provides a space for participants to actively engage in hands-on workplace practices to further employability. Individuals will gain employment skills, form new relationships, and explore opportunities in their community. By empowering individuals to attain their objectives within this project they will lay the groundwork for their success in real-world work environments. The Neighborhood Experiences project is for individuals, ages 13 to 20, who strongly desire to obtain employment following high school. Participants must have a diagnosis of an intellectual or developmental disability, reside in St. Louis County or St. Louis City, and be returning to high school in the fall to participate in the project.
