This program provides assistance for blind persons who do not qualify under the Supplemental Aid to the Blind law and who are not eligible for Supplemental Security Income benefits. Each eligible person receives a monthly cash grant of $541, as well as state funded medical assistance.
The Supplemental Aid to the Blind (SAB) program is operated in conjunction with the Blind Pension program. Eligible individuals receive a monthly cash grant up to and including $718.00, as well as MO HealthNet Coverage.

Reports are received through a toll-free telephone line which is answered seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Any person may report, and anonymous reports are accepted from individuals who are not mandated by occupation to report.
Calls of concern can be made to each county office. Instructions may be given for the reporter to call the toll free number of the CA/NHU for the call to be made into a formal report.
