One Percent loans made by USDA Rural Development up to $20,000 to very low income applicants to repair the home they now own, and grants made by USDA Rural Development up to $7,500 to very low income applicants to repair the home they now own to remove safety and health hazards. Grant recipients must be 62 years of age or older, and show they cannot afford a 1% repair loan.

The purpose of the MO HealthNet program is to provide medical services to persons who meet certain eligibility requirements as determined by FSD. The goals of the MO HealthNet program are to promote good health, to prevent illness and premature death, to correct or limit disability, to treat illness, and to provide rehabilitation to persons with disabilities. Eligible persons receive a "MO HealthNet Identification Card" or a letter from the local FSD office. The Family Support Division (FSD) determines client eligibility for the MO HealthNet program: the MO HealthNet Division administers the MO HealthNet program including establishment of benefit coverage, rates, claims processing, and all other aspects of daily operations.

Family-centered services are provided to families and children in their own homes when a child abuse or neglect investigation/family assessment response determination is preponderance of evidence, unsubstantiated-preventive services indicated, or services needed. Services include a range of treatment and support services and are provided, as appropriate to the case treatment plan.

Military One Source is a supplement to existing family programs and provides 24-hour, seven days a week, toll free information and referral telephone line and internet/web based service. Provides information ranging from every day concerns to deployments/reintegration issues.

Donations of household furniture and goods are accepted.

Provides emergency medical care and treatment to those who are experiencing acute health problems or traumatic injuries

Services are offered for children and parents involved in the adoption process. These include the evaluation of the child's needs prior to placement, and arrangements for care of the child prior to the child's adoptive placement and to the approval of the adoptive family. Also, special activities are provided to help adoptive parents and children adjust to the new family situation.

Provides a cooling center during extreme temperatures

Responsible for coordinating governmental offices during natural and man-made disasters and for the coordination of emergency management activities including planning, preparedness, response and recovery.

Applicants may receive a LIHEAP grant or other funding paid to the provider of their heating fuel to pay a portion of their heating expense.
