Eligibility

To qualify, applicants must be:
  • Homeowners who have lived in their current home for 5+ years. Homeowners must currently own, live in, and plan to stay in their home.
  • Low-income households that are financially unable to afford the repairs.
  • Older adults who are 65 years and older who need minor home modifications and are physically unable to do their own repairs, and/or
  • Veterans who are 60 years and older who need minor home modifications and are physically unable to do their own repairs and/or
  • Individuals with disabilities of any age who need minor home modifications and are physically unable to do their own repairs.
  • Individuals must be no more than 3 years behind on their real estate taxes.

Required documents

  • Documentation of home ownership (most recent real estate tax receipt)
  • Driver's License or ID
  • Proof of income for all living in the house
  • 1040 Income Tax Form
  • Two most recent full bank statements for each checking and savings account in your name
  • DD-214 indicating honorable discharge is required for Veterans

Limited funding and resources allow Rebuilding Together to assist only a small portion of requests each year. Therefore, our application process takes time - typically several years. However, selected homes can potentially receive several safety modifications and repairs.
