Eligibility

  • Homeowners, renters and nursing home residents who lived in Missouri for the entire calendar year
  • Individual or their spouse age 65 years and older
  • Individual or their spouse under age 65 years and 100% disabled
  • Individual age 60-64 years and received surviving spouse social security benefits
  • Gross annual income must not have exceeded (Single - $27,500 if rented or owned home less than the full year, $30,000 if owned and occupied home for the entire year, Married - $29,000 if rented or owned home less than the full year, $34,000 if owned and occupied home for the entire year)
  • Gross annual income includes Social Security (SSA 1099) or Railroad Retirement, Wages (W-2's), Dividends, Interest and Pensions (1099s)
  • If rent from a facility that DOES NOT pay property taxes, person is not eligible for a Circuit Breaker

Required documents

  • Social Security (SSA 1099) or Railroad Retirement Award Letter
  • W-2's from Employers
  • 1099s for Dividends, Interest, Pensions
  • Paid real estate tax receipt or receipt for RENT paid during entire year
  • Disabled Veterans need letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs
