Assistance for water and electric bills for eligible persons or families. Assistance is available to a household once per year (October 1 – September 30). The application period for each year is September 1 – August 31.

Email [email protected] call 573-817-6430 - Must complete application and include required documents - Applications are available at Health Department office, Boone Electric Cooperative, and City of Columbia Water and Light Customer Service. Electronic applications can be found on the City's website at: www.gocolumbiamo.com/CommunityServices/Programs/Social_Service/socserv.php - Completed applications and documents may be mailed or dropped off at the Health Department, faxed to (573)874-7756, or emailed to [email protected] - Completed applications will be processed within 30 days. Accepted applications will be eligible for random selection for 12 months from the date the application is accepted

Must fill out program application completely, including the following documents: - Copy of account holder's photo ID - Copies of social security cards for all household members - Copy of account holder's utility bill - Proof of income for previous month: paycheck stub, social security income, unemployment, child support, TANF, disability income, alimony, pension, etc. - Working telephone number

Eligibility

Resident of Boone County - Seniors and persons with disabilities - Families with children under the age of 18, adults with disabilities, or persons ages 60 and older - Household income must be at or below 150% of the federal poverty level - Utility account must be in the eligible applicant's name.
